Vinh City officially selects 4 walking streets

(Baonghean.vn) - Vinh City People's Committee is submitting to the Provincial People's Committee to build 4 routes as walking streets.

To serve tourists when entering the walking street, Vinh City People's Committee plans to have service parking lots for cars including: Parking lot No. 1 at Ho Chi Minh Square, Vinh Giao Te Hotel parking lot and Provincial Labor Culture House.

Motorcycle parking services will be arranged at the intersection of Le Hong Phong and Nguyen Van Cu streets and on the sidewalk of Le Mao street, in front of Central Park. In addition, if necessary, large groups of guests will mobilize parking lot No. 2 on Truong Thi street and the parking lot on the side of the Festival Palace.

Basically, all units support the idea of ​​opening a walking street in Vinh city. However, according to Mr. Ho Cong Nghia - Acting Head of the Management Board of Ho Chi Minh Square and Monument, the time to open the walking street is usually on Fridays and Saturdays at the weekend, which is also the time when unexpected political events often take place that the board cannot proactively control.

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thanh - Director of the Provincial Labor Culture House said: I only know that Vinh city has a policy to open a walking street through the press, so I cannot give my opinion yet. However, I fully support opening a walking street, but opening a parking service at the Provincial Labor Culture House must be carefully calculated.

Similarly, when discussed, the representative of Vinh Giao Te Hotel has not yet given his opinion on arranging parking services at the hotel. However, through practical research, it is known that on weekends, Giao Te Hotel often has many events and many guests, so it is difficult for the hotel because the campus will prioritize serving guests, the remaining area will serve pedestrians. Specifically, when the City People's Committee works and raises the issue, the hotel will have a plan.

These are the locations that the city has surveyed and planned; in the near future, along with waiting for opinions from departments, branches and the Provincial People's Committee, the city will work specifically with each unit on the plan to implement the vehicle parking service, ensuring the most convenience for both people and service units.
