Paying more than 278,550 billion VND to resolve insurance policies

According to data from Vietnam Social Security, the amount spent on insurance policies in 11 months was more than VND278,550 billion, of which, social insurance expenditure from the state budget was VND41,562 billion, expenditure from the compulsory social insurance fund was VND139,729 billion, unemployment insurance expenditure was VND8,277 billion and expenditure from the health insurance fund was VND88,781 billion.

In 11 months, Vietnam Social Security has resolved social insurance benefits for nearly 10 million people, including 112,782 pension and monthly social insurance benefit applications; 9,042,477 people receiving sick leave, maternity leave, convalescence and health recovery benefits.

In particular, the social insurance agency has settled 743,418 people receiving one-time benefits. Thus, more than 743,000 people have withdrawn from the social insurance fund in 11 months.

Vietnam Social Security also provided unemployment benefits to 710,380 people and vocational training support to 35,032 people in the past 11 months.

Regarding health insurance alone, the Vietnam Social Security agency has paid health insurance medical examination and treatment costs for 161.1 million cases with a total amount of VND 88,781 billion.

By the end of November, it was estimated that 4.31 million people participated in compulsory social insurance; 253,000 people participated in voluntary social insurance; 12.24 million people participated in unemployment insurance; 82.38 million people participated in health insurance, reaching a coverage rate of 87.72% of the population./.
