Just because of the tree in the garden, I killed you.
As reported, at 5:30 p.m. on August 6, due to a conflict, Mac Van Ly (born in 1981, residing in Kieng 2 village, Chau Binh commune, Quy Chau district) used a knife to stab his brother Mac Van Thao (born in 1980, also residing in Kieng 2 village, Chau Binh commune, Quy Chau district), causing Thao to die on the spot.
Mr. Thao's house, where the crime took place.
According to Mr. Luong Thanh Bien, Mac Van Thao and Mac Van Ly are two brothers, their houses are close to each other and their gardens are adjacent. The two of them have a mahogany tree, not knowing who planted it. Before the incident, Mr. Ly sold the mahogany tree without telling Mr. Thao. At 5:30 p.m. on August 6, Mr. Thao was drinking at his house with Mr. Mac Van An (a neighbor). At the same time, Mr. Ly was also at home and passed by when he heard Mr. Thao calling him and saying, “Why are you selling my mahogany tree?”
The two men argued with each other. Thao ran into the kitchen, grabbed two knives (one of which was a sharp knife), and rushed out. Seeing Thao had a weapon, Ly turned around and ran away, but Thao threw it at him, injuring his left little finger. At this moment, his blood boiled, Ly turned around and said: "You threw away all the knives, what else do you have to slash me with?" Ly immediately picked up two knives, chased Thao into the kitchen gate, and stabbed Thao in the left chest, killing him on the spot.
After committing the crime, Mac Van Ly called Mac Van Thanh (a police officer of Kieng 2 village) to inform him that he had just stabbed his brother to death and asked Thanh to take him to the police station.
Immediately after receiving the news, Quy Chau District Police and Chau Binh Commune Police were present at the scene to make a record of the case and temporarily detained Mac Van Ly.
It is known that Thao and Ly are both poor and are brothers, but they often quarrel about family matters. Previously (June 2012), in a fight, Mac Van Thao used a chainsaw to beat Ly, breaking his left arm and requiring him to be treated in the province.
Currently, the authorities are continuing to investigate.
