From November 16th to 21st, the "Lee Jung Hee Embroidery Exhibition" will open at the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam (49 Nguyen Du Street, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi), aiming to introduce Korean royal embroidery techniques to the Vietnamese people.

The exhibition is jointly organized by the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea, and the Korean Committee for Culture and Arts.

The "Lee Jung Hee Embroidery" exhibition will introduce to the Vietnamese public traditional embroidery techniques used in previous Korean dynasties, combined with modern embroidery techniques to create practical embroidered products for contemporary life.

The exhibition will showcase 34 diverse embroidered products, ranging from "Blue Dragon and White Tiger" and "Pair of Wild Ducks" screens to "Longevity" embroidered paintings and other embroidered items used in the daily lives of Koreans. Notably, at the opening ceremony, artist Lee Jung Hee will personally demonstrate some traditional Korean embroidery techniques to attendees.

Artist Lee Jung Hee began her journey in traditional embroidery at the age of 17. Despite being a Level 1 disabled person, she has overcome personal and external challenges in pursuing embroidery for the past 30 years, becoming a vital part of traditional Korean culture.

In 2014, she received the Minister of Industry and Resources Award for her handicrafts. Prior to that, she also received the Outstanding Award for People with Disabilities in 2010 (Presidential Award) and the Republic of Korea Arts and Culture Award for People with Disabilities in 2013 (Presidential Award).

Furthermore, her works have been displayed at over 53 handicraft exhibitions and competitions for artisans in the handicraft industry. Life for a disabled woman is not easy, but for 30 years she has dedicated herself to embroidery despite her personal difficulties. It is these efforts that have created works that evoke strong emotions in the public.

The Korean Cultural Center hopes the exhibition will provide Vietnamese people with a more vivid perspective on the spiritual life of the Korean people, from ancient times to the present day.
