Of which, Bastion-P focuses on the ability to attack and destroy surface targets while EXTRA and Accular focus on the task of destroying ground targets with extremely high accuracy. Therefore, EXTRA and Accular are suitable for the task of retaking islands or coastlines. Photo source: Tuoi Tre |

Notably, of the 8 Molniya ships that Vietnam owns, 6 were built in our country with technology transfer from Russia. In the near future, Vietnam can cooperate with Russia to continue upgrading Molniya weapons with BrahMos or Yakhont cruise missiles. Photo source: VGP |

The most powerful, largest, and most modern of Vietnam's surface fleet is the Project 11661E Gepard 3.9 frigate class. Vietnam has currently been equipped with two of these ships, named 011 Dinh Tien Hoang and 012 Ly Thai To. In addition, it is expected that by the end of this year we will receive two more ships with upgraded anti-submarine weapons. Photo source: Zing |

The brightest stars of the Vietnam People's Navy at sea today are the 6 Kilo 636 submarines: 182 Hanoi; 183 Ho Chi Minh City; 184 Hai Phong; 185 Khanh Hoa; 186 Da Nang and 187 Ba Ria-Vung Tau. In the photo, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visits the inside of the Kilo 636 submarine. It can be seen that the control system in the Kilo 636 was manufactured by Russia at a very modern level, the intuitive and vivid display system creates favorable conditions for the crew to operate. The Kilo 636 submarine has a displacement of 3,000 tons when surfaced, 4,000 tons when submerged, is 74 meters long, and can dive to a depth of 300 meters. The most outstanding advantage of the submarine is that it is equipped with special anechoic tiles that allow it to be almost "invisible" underwater to enemy sonar systems. The Kilo's capabilities have been recognized by the US and NATO, and it has even been nicknamed "black hole" to describe its unique capabilities. Photo source: Zing |

In particular, the Kilo 636 submarine is also equipped with a weapon system considered the most powerful in the world of non-nuclear submarines today with the Klub-S cruise missile complex equipped with anti-ship and anti-land cruise missiles with a range of 200-300km and a 533mm torpedo launcher system that can be combined with mines.
