Indian and Korean warships visit Vietnam
Two Indian Navy ships are visiting the Navy. Previously, a pair of warships from the Republic of Korea Navy also visited Vietnam Naval Region 3.
Two Indian Navy ships, including the Destroyer INS SATPURA and the missile frigate INS KADMATT, led by Captain Rahul Shankar, Captain of INS SATPURA, along with 65 officers and 580 sailors, docked at Hai Phong port to begin a visit to Hai Phong city, the Navy from September 23-27.
This is the 29th visit to Vietnam by an Indian naval ship and the 7th visit to Hai Phong city.
This visit aims to strengthen friendship, understanding and mutual trust between the people, the two countries' armies in general and the two navies in particular, contributing to promoting the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and India to develop and deepen.
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (January 7, 1972 - January 7, 2017) and the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam - India strategic partnership (July 6, 2007 - July 6, 2017).
During the visit, the delegation of officers of INS SATPURA and INS KADMATT of the Indian Navy paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of the Naval Command; the ship's command group also paid a courtesy visit to the leaders of Hai Phong City People's Committee; the two sides organized joint training on sea formations with the Vietnam People's Navy and friendly sports activities with officers and soldiers of Naval Region 1.

It is known that INS Satpura is a Shivalik-class warship (Project 17) belonging to the project of building multi-purpose stealth frigates of the Indian Navy. The best of the Indian defense industry and electronic systems of other countries have been applied to build this destroyer.
* Previously, on the morning of September 18, two South Korean Navy ships, including Roks Kang Gam Chan (DDH-979), Roks Hwacheon (AOE-59) with 633 officers and sailors led by Rear Admiral Yang Yong-Mo, Commander of the Maritime Patrol Training Group, docked at Tien Sa port to officially pay a courtesy visit to Da Nang city.
During the 4 days, in addition to the main contents such as meeting with leaders of Da Nang city and visiting Naval Region 3, the officers and crew also visited and exchanged, and gave school supplies to children at charity centers.
In addition, the Korean Navy Band will have a music exchange at the East Sea Park (Da Nang City). The two ships also carry 11,000 Korean language textbooks from Changwon City to donate to the General Library, the University of Foreign Languages and some units of Da Nang City.
Rear Admiral Yang Yong-Mo said: "The visit aims to strengthen and deepen the Vietnam-Korea strategic partnership. In particular, the visit is even more meaningful as the two countries celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (December 22, 1992 - December 22, 2017)."

Roks Kang Gam Chan is a destroyer class, launched in March 2006, with the mission of reconnaissance, anti-submarine patrol, anti-ship and attack on land targets. The ship has a displacement of more than 5,500 tons, is 150 m long, 17.4 m wide, and 9.5 m high.
The ship is equipped with two MTU diesel engines and two LM2500 gas turbine engines, allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 54 km/h and a maximum range of about 6,500 km. The ship is equipped with anti-ground, anti-air, anti-ship and anti-submarine cruise missiles.
The Roks Hwacheon is a Cheonji-class logistics ship tasked with providing fuel, food and rescue operations for combat forces at sea./.
