New strategies in treating non-small cell lung cancer
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 24, 2015, Nghe An Oncology Hospital organized an online scientific conference on the topic "New Treatment Strategies for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer," jointly organized by Nghe An Oncology Hospital and the National Cancer Hospital.

At the Nghe An Oncology Hospital's end of the bridge, Dr. Nguyen Quang Trung - Director of Nghe An Oncology Hospital, and all the doctors and pharmacists of Nghe An Oncology Hospital participated.
At the Central Cancer Hospital's end of the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Bui Cong Toan - Deputy Director of the Central Cancer Hospital - chaired the meeting; Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tuyet Mai - Head of Internal Medicine Department 1, and cancer scientists from the Central Cancer Hospital were also present. Notably, the conference included the participation of Professor Francesco Grossi, Director of the National Cancer Research Institute of Genoa, Italy.
Lung cancer is the most common cancer among men in Vietnam, as well as worldwide. The annual incidence rate in Vietnamese men is 30.7 per 100,000 people. Nghe An province, with a population of approximately 3 million, estimates that 900 new cases of lung cancer are diagnosed each year. The Internal Medicine Department II at Nghe An Oncology Hospital consistently treats over 100 lung cancer patients.
At the conference, Professor Francesco Grossi shared global knowledge on the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer, the most common type of lung cancer.
Professor F. Grossi emphasized the latest treatments, new drugs, and new protocols applied by leading scientists worldwide; while also offering recommendations appropriate to the biological and sociological conditions and characteristics of East Asians.
Doctors from Nghe An Oncology Hospital also asked many questions about specific cases at the hospital and shared experiences in combining radiofrequency ablation with chemotherapy in the treatment of lung cancer, which Nghe An Oncology Hospital has applied and yielded good results for patients.
This scientific conference provided doctors at Nghe An Oncology Hospital with new knowledge, helping young doctors to continuously strive to learn and access advanced scientific research methods to find new treatment methods and techniques, applying them to specialized cancer diagnosis and treatment for patients.
