Russian UAV attack tactics erode Ukraine's air defense system
Russia's Lancet suicide UAV group attack tactic has caused a lot of difficulties for Ukraine's air defense systems.
According to RIA Novosti, Russian military officials recently shared about the effectiveness of mass attack tactics using UAVs in special military campaigns.
"The Russian military is using a group attack method with suicide UAVs to eliminate the opponent's long-range air defense systems. For example, about 10-12 Lancet suicide UAVs will be used to shoot down an S-300PS or S-300V complex," a Russian military official said.

According to military experts, swarm UAV tactics are considered one of the top challenges in modern combat environments. A large number of suicide UAVs can disrupt and cause heavy damage to the most modern air defense systems, while their cost is extremely cheap.
"Air tactics give the enemy's air defense system enough time to intercept all targets heading their way. Just one successful attack by a UAV is enough to offset the costs of the remaining UAVs," a Russian defense official commented.
Ukraine’s air defenses are being slowly eroded after a year of conflict, according to leaked Pentagon documents. Missile stocks for the S-300 and Buk-M1 systems are at risk of being depleted in the coming months. The US NASAMS systems are in a similar state.
