Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) Tran Nhat Hoang said that on the afternoon of January 7, the film crew of King Kong 2 will arrive in Hanoi to begin filming the outdoor scenes in Vietnam.

The movie King Kong part 2 titled Kong: Skull Island with stars Samuel L. Jackson, Bire Larson, Tom Hiddleston, John C. Reily, Samuel L. Jackson and Toby Kebbell will have some outdoor filming in Vietnam.

Kong: Skull Island is about a group of explorers who enter an island and confront dangerous, monstrous creatures to find valuable serum.

Since September 2015, director Jordan Charles Vogt-Roberts has been in Vietnam to choose the location. He has visited famous tourist destinations in Ninh Binh, Quang Binh, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai.

Director Jordan Charles Vogt-Roberts also visited the film crew of director/actress Ngo Thanh Van's film Tam Cam in Ninh Binh.

Kong: Skull Island is scheduled to film in Vietnam for a month. The film will be released worldwide in March 2017.
