Footage of North Korean citizen believed to be Kim Jong-nam being attacked at a Malaysian airport and two female suspects quickly fleeing was shown to the court during the trial on October 11.

Video footage shows the victim arriving at the departure hall at the low-cost carrier terminal at Kuala Lumpur International Airport on the morning of February 13 and entering the check-in area. A woman identified as Doan Thi Huong approached Kim at the check-in counter and slapped him in the face from behind before running away.

The second suspect, Indonesian Siti Aisyah, did not attack the victim but was also seen in the video running in the other direction, police investigator Wan Azirul Nizam Che Wan Aziz testified in court.

Bernama news agency quoted Wan Azirul as telling the court that Huong acted forcefully and did not apologize to "Kim Jong-nam" as she had done when she committed a similar act with another person, also at the airport two days earlier.

In court, a video recording of the suspect practicing applying poison on "Kim Jong-nam's" face was also shown.

According to police investigator Wan Azirul, both women rushed to separate toilets, keeping their hands away from their bodies to avoid contact. After leaving the toilet, their hands were in a normal position, the investigator said. Mr. Azirul also said that there was a toilet on the floor where the attack took place, but both suspects went to the toilet on the floor below.

Prosecutors said the women knew they were using VX, which is classified as a weapon of mass destruction by the United Nations. A chemical weapons expert testified earlier that VX can be safely removed by thoroughly washing hands under water within 15 minutes of exposure.

Also during yesterday's testimony, police officer Wan Azirul said that "Kim Jong-nam" was carrying $100,000 in cash in his backpack at the time of his murder. This amount is currently kept safely in the office of the Sepang district police chief.

Next week, the judge, lawyers and two suspects will visit the crime scene.

Yesterday, after more than a week of trial, a special room was opened for journalists to cover the murder of "Kim Jong-nam". The room can accommodate 40 journalists and is located on the first floor of the Shah Alam court. The proceedings on the fifth floor were broadcast live to this room.
