Free screening of the film "Hoang Sa - Vietnam: The pain of loss"
The 59-minute film talks about the difficult life but perseverance of Vietnamese fishermen who still stick to the sea to make a living.
The documentary film: “Hoang Sa - Vietnam: The Pain of Loss” by author André Menras - Ho Cuong Quyet will be screened for free at 3:00 p.m. on July 11, at the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations, 53 Nguyen Du, Hanoi. This is part of the exchange program with the author of the film, jointly organized by Tri Thuc Publishing House and Phan Chau Trinh Cultural Foundation.

The 59-minute film tells the story of the arduous life of Vietnamese fishermen who persevere at sea to make a living; and at the same time praises female fishermen who endure hardship, are industrious, and sacrifice for their husbands and children.
The film also records the spiritual life of fishermen in the coastal area through images of wind graves and festivals about Hoang Sa sailors dating back to the 17th century. The film was screened at the exhibition “Hoang Sa - Truong Sa: An inseparable part of Vietnam’s territory” at the Da Nang Museum from June 21 to 25.
André Menras - Ho Cuong Quyet is a dual citizen of France and Vietnam. He has participated in many activities to protest against unjust wars and support the just war of the Vietnamese people in the resistance war against the US to save the country. At the screening, the author and director of the film - André Menras will interact with the audience about the process of making this documentary./.
