The Argentine government has asked Russia to deport Argentine fans who took part in the riots after a football match in Nizhny Novgorod, the South American country's Security Minister Patricia Bullrich said.

"Elia, Pardo, Esleher and Catalan are four people caught on video camera brutally beating a Croatian citizen. We demand that the Russian authorities arrest and deport them," Bullrich wrote in her personal Twitter microblog.

Earlier, a video appeared on social networks, in which several Argentine fans gathered to punch and kick a fan from Croatia after the match between the national teams of the two countries at the stadium in Nizhny Novgorod.

The press service of the Organizing Committee of "Russia - 2018" informed Sputnik that seven citizens of Argentina will be held administratively responsible, and their fan passports (Fan IDs) will be canceled.

This is not the first scandal involving Argentine fans at the World Cup. Previously, a video was posted online recording the scene of Argentine fan Nestor Fernando Penovi asking a Russian female tourist who did not know Spanish and asking her to repeat after him obscene and insulting sentences for fun.

The Argentine government initiated sanctions against Penovi, banning him from the World Cup in Russia. He later apologized, saying he was ashamed and admitting he had behaved inappropriately.

On Friday, Minister Bullrich announced that after Penovi, another football fan, Claudio Fitterer, had been stripped of his right to attend World Cup matches for insulting a girl. A video had appeared online - Fitter asked a girl who did not speak Spanish to repeat an obscene phrase.
