Government adjusts foreign language project 2020
The Prime Minister has just signed Decision No. 2080/QD-TTg approving adjustments and supplements to the Project on teaching and learning foreign languages in the national education system for the 2017-2025 period.
The project aims to innovate foreign language teaching and learning in the national education system; continue to implement new foreign language teaching and learning programs at all levels and training levels, improve foreign language proficiency to meet learning and working needs; and enhance the competitiveness of human resources.

Specifically, for preschool education, the Project aims to complete the issuance of programs and learning materials to introduce foreign languages to preschool children by 2020.
For general education, complete the issuance of the elective foreign language program for grades 1 and 2 by 2020. By 2025, strive for 100% of students from grades 3 to 6 to study a 10-year foreign language program (starting from grades 3 to 12).
By 2025, 50% of vocational training institutions will implement foreign language programs according to output standards and training majors and occupations. 100% of foreign language training majors will implement foreign language programs according to output standards and training majors; 80% of other majors will implement foreign language programs according to output standards and training majors; and implement a number of teacher training programs in foreign languages.
100% of graduates meet the requirements of teacher professional standards and foreign language teacher competency frameworks according to grade levels and training levels...
To achieve the above goals, in the coming time, relevant ministries and branches will issue and implement foreign language teaching and learning programs and materials; innovate testing and evaluation, etc.
