The Government urgently reports to the General Secretary about Deputy Minister Kim Thoa
The Minister and Head of the Government Office said that the Prime Minister has assigned three ministries and the Government Inspectorate to urgently and strictly implement the General Secretary's direction on verifying the assets of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa.

Previously, on February 16, the Party Central Office issued a document conveying the General Secretary's announcement, in which it checked information in two articles about the assets of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa.
“What is the Government's stance after the General Secretary's directive? After half a month of review, is there any final information?”
Responding to the question, Minister and Head of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung affirmed that the official dispatch of the Party Central Office announcing the direction of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong mentioning the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoa with the assets as reported by the press is a very important opinion of the Party leader in the policy of fighting corruption, fighting group interests, and taking advantage of positions and powers.
"After receiving the General Secretary's opinion, the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Finance, Industry and Trade, and the Government Inspectorate to urgently and strictly implement the General Secretary's direction," he said.
Accordingly, the agencies will report to the Prime Minister on the restructuring of the enterprise where the Deputy Minister previously worked, equitization, capital, related to the implementation of the decision to appoint relatives, financial control... Next, the Prime Minister will report to the General Secretary the verification results.
Minister Mai Tien Dung also said that the Government has assigned the Ministry of Finance to preside over, together with the Government Inspectorate and the State Enterprise Reform Board, reviewing all regulations related to the restructuring of SOEs to avoid loopholes in equitization. The agencies will have to report to the Prime Minister in the second quarter of 2017.

No restricted areas in Formosa case
Responding to a reporter's question about the review of the responsibility of former leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in the Formosa case, Minister Mai Tien Dung affirmed that the agencies will seriously handle organizations and individuals who violated Formosa's waste discharge affecting the marine environment of four central provinces.
The Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has reviewed and clarified responsibilities, provided documents to the Central Inspection Committee and announced conclusions that have received great support from the people.
“In other words, as the General Secretary said, there are no exceptions, no forbidden zones. The notification of shortcomings of former Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Minh Quang, former Secretary of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee Vo Kim Cu and other officials will continue to be implemented. The Prime Minister's direction is to continue implementing the contents according to the General Secretary's direction. If there are any violations, they will continue to be considered and handled,” said the Minister.
