The regulations include strict management of any visitors entering Laos by land or air, who must be quarantined for at least 14 days. All local and traditional border gates will be closed, while international border gates will still operate normally, but must ensure adequate supplies, equipment and human resources to detect and manage people infected with the epidemic.

Accordingly, the issuance of visas and visas, including electronic visas or E-Visas, for foreigners entering Laos will be temporarily suspended. Those who are allowed to enter Laos must undergo medical examination and prove their travel history before being granted a temporary visa exemption. Laos also restricts civil servants from traveling abroad during this time, especially by plane and crowded vehicles.

The Lao Government's emergency decree also advises people to avoid large gatherings, including festivals, fairs, and events to celebrate the New Year and the traditional Bunpimay festival. Schools in the national education system, karaoke bars, and massage parlors are temporarily closed until further notice. Lao workers abroad and Lao students returning to Laos during the New Year will be given separate instructions. The Lao Government also recommends that Lao people abroad temporarily postpone their return to the country until the epidemic improves./.
