In the capital Caracas, pro-government protesters gathered early in the morning in several locations across the city, carrying signs and slogans in support of the leftist leader, as well as expressing solidarity with workers of the state-owned company Corpoelec, who have been restoring electricity services after a series of blackouts across the country.

Meanwhile, on the same day, groups supporting the opposition also took to the streets in the capital Caracas and many other cities to protest at the call of opposition leader Juan Guaido and demand President Maduro to resign amid the increasingly serious political and social crisis in Venezuela.

Last March, Venezuela suffered a series of widespread power outages that the government blamed on US attacks on the Venezuelan power grid, but Washington denied any involvement in Caracas's power outages./.
