Venezuelan government ready to sit at the negotiating table with the opposition
The Venezuelan government is ready to sit down at the negotiating table with representatives of the opposition if they want, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreas said on RT television channel.

"If the Venezuelan opposition wants to sit down at the negotiating table, we will do it. The fact is that we have never left the negotiating table. If there is someone who sometimes sits down to negotiate and sometimes does the opposite, it is the opposition," Arreasa said.
"I would like that the will appears on their part. I would like them to ask permission from their superiors in the United States, so that we can sit down at the negotiating table and start looking for a solution," he said, noting that negotiations can only take place within the framework of the Venezuelan Constitution, which is the legal basis that not only the opposition, but also the government, adheres to.
"This is a great opportunity for us to meet each other and… together as Venezuelans, to be able to lay the foundations of a political path for the future," the Venezuelan Foreign Minister added.
Mr. Arreasa also stated that the Venezuelan government maintains "constant contact" with the opposition.
"It's good for the world to know that we are in constant contact with the Venezuelan opposition," Mr. Arreasa stressed.
