Dismissed and removed from office 3 relatives of former Chairman of Gia Lai
Gia Lai provincial authorities have dismissed, removed from office, and demoted three relatives of former Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee Pham The Dung because their appointment did not meet the conditions and standards.
Ms. Tran Thi Ly (Deputy Head of Gia Lai Province Ethnic Minorities Committee, half-sister of Mr. Dung) has resigned and was approved.
Mr. Pham Duc Manh (Deputy Head of the Provincial Market Management Department, Ms. Ly's husband) was dismissed and demoted to an employee.
Mr. Pham Tran Anh (Chief Inspector of the Department of Home Affairs, son of Mr. Dung) had his appointment as Chief Inspector revoked by the specialized agency, and his position as Deputy Chief Inspector was kept.

Previously, the Central Inspection Committee issued a statement clearly stating the violations of Mr. Pham The Dung (former Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee for the 2011-2016 term), during his time as a provincial leader, he lacked exemplary conduct in proposing the appointment of a number of relatives who did not meet the standards and conditions.
Specifically, Ms. Tran Thi Ly was recruited from an ordinary worker to work at the Provincial Ethnic Committee. From the position of accountant, Ms. Ly was promoted and appointed to the position of Deputy Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee.
