Comments on the plan to implement the arrangement of press agencies in Nghe An province

4 agencies under planning
At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Information and Communications reported on the process of developing a plan to implement the Press Planning of Nghe An province.
Accordingly, in the province there are currently 7 press agencies: Nghe An Newspaper, Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Police Newspaper, Nghe An Labor Newspaper, Culture Magazine, Song Lam Magazine, Science and Technology Magazine.
To implement the plan, the Department has sent a document requesting 7 press agencies to report on the current situation of their organizational structure, staffing, budget, activities, recommendations, proposals, etc.

At the same time, the Department also sent a document asking for opinions from the press management agencies (Nghe An Police - the management agency of Nghe An Police Newspaper; the Provincial Labor Federation - the management agency of Nghe An Labor Newspaper; the Provincial Literature and Arts Association - the management agency of Song Lam Magazine; the Department of Culture and Sports - the management agency of Culture Magazine; the Department of Science and Technology - the management agency of Science and Technology Magazine); the Press Department - Ministry of Information and Communications and related agencies and units.
According to the provisions of Point d, Clause 1, Section III, Decision No. 362/QD-TTg dated April 3, 2019 of the Prime Minister on approving the National Press Development and Management Plan until 2025, Nghe An Labor Newspaper, Nghe An Police Newspaper, Culture Magazine, Science and Technology Magazine are press agencies subject to the planning.
Three agencies: Nghe An Newspaper, Provincial Radio and Television Station, and Song Lam Magazine are kept intact because they are suitable for planning, but must gradually improve the quality of form and content; move towards financial autonomy.
Need a suitable plan
At the meeting, representatives of the press agencies in the planning area raised their opinions, re-evaluated the results as well as the purposes and requirements of the units' operations, and at the same time recommended that the Provincial People's Committee should have appropriate plans to rearrange the press agencies.
Delegates said that the provincial press planning must be consistent with the central press planning, but the important thing is to maintain the effective communication channels of the province up to now; at the same time, ensure the lives of cadres, reporters, journalists, and collaborators at press agencies.

After listening to opinions from the governing bodies and relevant departments and branches, concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long emphasized that re-planning press agencies in the province is necessary. However, what must be done so that after planning, press agencies can develop more strongly, serve better and be more effective in informing and propagating, and orienting public opinion.

Agreeing with the implementation plan of the Department of Information and Communications, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long requested the Department of Information and Communications to receive and synthesize opinions from agencies, and have a report stating clearly the advantages and difficulties of the planning plan to seek opinions from the Provincial People's Committee at the upcoming meeting.
