A massive collection of ancient photographs capturing the holy city of Jerusalem has just caused a stir at an auction when it was sold for nearly £1 million (nearly VND33 billion). Immediately after the price was finalized, this collection of photos became one of the most memorable travel photo collections in the history of auctions.

Initially, the auction house thought the collection would only fetch around £300,000 (nearly 10 billion VND), but a bidding war broke out during the auction, between two anonymous buyers, who agreed on the price over the phone. In the end, the collection sold for more than three times the initial estimate - £960,000 (more than 31 billion VND).
