Under the guidance of coach Nguyen Thanh Vinh, Song Lam always ranked at the top through the seasons and one year became the king of Vietnamese football.

Speaking of the generations of Song Lam players, we cannot forget Le Cong Vinh, the number one striker of Vietnamese football at this time. Cong Vinh has scored more than 100 goals in the domestic professional football seasons. In addition to winning the Vietnam Golden Ball award 3 times, he is one of the Vietnamese players (the 9th) playing for foreign clubs.

No matter the time, no matter how many financial difficulties, Song Lam is still the leading club in the country in training young players. The U13, U15, U17, U19, U21 players, through the annual competition seasons, are often in the top of the country. In particular, U17 has won the national championship 7 times.
