Husband abused and burned his wife alive

The police are monitoring Tran Van Hien (commonly known as Duoc, 30 years old) who is being treated at Cho Ray Hospital to serve the investigation related to the case of a woman living in Son Hoa, Phu Yen who was severely burned by a gasoline fire.

Initial information is known, Hien is the husband of Ms. Le Thi Kim N. (31 years old), they have 2 children together. Recently, the couple has been in discord so Hien has repeatedly used violence to torture his wife.

Feeling extremely upset and hurt when seeing Kim N. being beaten by her husband, about 2 weeks ago, the family invited the police to intervene in handling Hien's wife abuse.

However, after being dealt with by the local police, Hien not only did not change his mind but also continued to "beat and punch" his wife, causing family conflicts to become increasingly tense.

The climax of the incident occurred on the night of March 28, when Ms. Kim N. was sleeping when her husband doused her with gasoline and set her on fire. Covered in flames, she tried to escape, but Hien grabbed her hand and held her back in the room. Only when the fire caught her arms and burned her chest and face did Hien let go of his wife.

Both were put out by local people, taken to a local hospital for emergency treatment, and then transferred to Cho Ray Hospital. Hien suffered burns that were not life-threatening, but Kim N. was in critical condition and had to be treated in the intensive care unit.

According to information from the hospital, patient Kim N. suffered burns to about 60% of her body, including 17% deep burns. In addition, the patient must be monitored for respiratory burns. Doctors are trying to save her, but her prognosis is quite cautious.

Currently, the police are monitoring Hien during his treatment to serve the investigation to clarify the case.
