Husband poured gasoline on wife and set her on fire, causing their child to die

(Baonghean.vn)- At around 9:00 p.m. on July 27, 2015, in hamlet 5B, Nam Thanh commune, Nam Dan district, a serious murder case occurred. The husband poured gasoline on his wife and set her on fire, causing their child to die.

According to initial information, on the night of July 27, after coming home from drinking, Tran Van Giang (born in 1990) argued with his wife, Nguyen Thi Oanh Dam (born in 1993). Afterwards, Giang poured gasoline on his wife who was holding their 9-month-old son, Tran Van Doan, and set her on fire.

Hearing Oanh's cries for help, neighbors rushed to put out the fire and quickly took the mother and child to the Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital for emergency treatment. Due to severe burns, Tran Van Doan died shortly after being admitted to the hospital, and Oanh was transferred to the Central Burn Institute in critical condition. Tran Van Giang was arrested on the spot by Nam Thanh Commune Police and Nam Dan District Police.

The case is currently being investigated by Nam Dan District Police in coordination with Nghe An Provincial Police./.
