According to the indictment, at about 10:30 p.m. on July 18, 2024, at the checkpoint to warn people and vehicles not to pass on National Highway 16 from Chau Thon commune to Chau Kim commune, due to serious landslides caused by storms.
At this time, because he was blocked by the authorities and not allowed to pass, La Tu Dat used force to seriously injure the Deputy Commander of the Chau Thon Commune Military Command.
At the trial, defendant La Tu Dat admitted all his crimes.
Considering the defendant's actions as a violation of the law, the Trial Panel sentenced La Tu Dat to 18 months in prison for the crime of "Resisting a person on official duty".
