Closing fee for the second largest road tunnel in Vietnam
From September 3, vehicles passing through Deo Ca tunnel will officially have to pay a fee ranging from 52,000 VND/trip to 200,000 VND/trip depending on the type of vehicle.
After more than a week of free toll collection, the Deo Ca tunnel toll station will officially start collecting tolls from September 3. The above price is confirmed by the investor, Deo Ca Joint Stock Company, to be in accordance with Circular 35/2016/TT-BGTVT and lower than the price approved by the Ministry of Transport in the project's financial plan. Monthly and quarterly tickets will be sold directly at the toll station operator from September 1, 2017.
Accordingly, group 1 vehicles include vehicles with less than 12 seats, trucks with a load capacity of less than 2 tons, and buses with a fee of 52,000 VND/trip and if buying a monthly ticket, the amount will be 1.56 million VND. Group 5 vehicles (trucks with a load capacity of 18 tons or more, trucks carrying goods in 40-foot containers) have the highest fee of 200,000 VND/trip, 6 million VND/month and 16.2 million VND/quarter.

After more than 4 years of construction, on August 21, 2017, the Deo Ca tunnel project opened the entire route to traffic.
This is the second largest road tunnel project in Vietnam, after Hai Van Pass Tunnel. The project starts at Km 1353+150 QL1 (Phu Yen), ends at Km 1374+525 QL1A (Khanh Hoa) with a total project length of 13.19km. Of which, Deo Ca tunnel is 4,125m long, Co Ma tunnel is 500m long, with a total investment of 11,378 billion VND.
According to information from the investor, Deo Ca Investment Joint Stock Company, this project was implemented entirely with Vietnamese capital and contractors over a total period of 8 years.

The two main items of the project are Deo Ca tunnel and Co Ma tunnel, which have the largest cross-section on Highway 1 with 2 parallel tunnels, each with 2 lanes operating in the same direction. The design speed is 80km/h.
With this project, people can choose to follow the old road with a length of 22km or go through the tunnel with a distance and time only half as much and at the same time with a higher level of safety. The expected toll collection period is 28 years.
