Vietnam's number 1 female volleyball player goes to Taiwan to compete

Rejecting many invitations from teams in Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines, striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (VTV Binh Dien Long An) has agreed to join the Attack Line Club competing in the Taiwan Volleyball Championship starting next October.

Perhaps the team that regrets the most for being slow in trying to invite striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is Bangkok Glass Club. When the negotiation with Attack Line (Taiwan) was almost completed and Vietnam's number 1 striker also wanted to try his hand in a new environment, Bangkok Glass spoke up. Therefore, although VTV Binh Dien Long An Club sympathized, they had to say no to the runner-up team of Thai-League 2017.

Previously, Thanh Thuy and her senior Ngoc Hoa played for the Bangkok Glass Club and won the Thai championship. Mr. Thai Buu Lam - Director of Binh Dien Sports Company - told SGGP Sports Online:

“The leaders of Attack Line Club came to meet and work with us in September, before Thanh Thuy and the Vietnamese women's team went to Thailand to compete in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers in Asia. Therefore, we reached an agreement with the Taiwanese team to let Thuy play in their Championship. Bangkok Glass Club only invited Thuy near the end of the world qualifiers, but it was too late, so we had to postpone it until next time.”

It is known that the leaders of VTV Binh Dien Long An Club will have a business trip to survey the accommodation and training facilities of the Attack Line team (Taiwan) in the next few days, before officially agreeing to let striker Tran Thi Thanh Thuy go abroad. Thanh Thuy's salary if playing in Taiwan is known to be nearly equal to the salary that Bangkok Glass Club paid to striker Ngoc Hoa in the past few seasons (about 4,000 USD/month).

In addition to the Attack Line team, some of the top teams in Indonesia and the Philippines have also invited striker Thanh Thuy to play in their national championships. However, after consideration, the leaders of VTV Binh Dien Long An Club have turned to Taiwan, because in addition to the enthusiasm of the club's leaders, there is another factor, which is that the Attack Line Club is trained by a Japanese coach with good expertise.

However, if Thanh Thuy goes to Taiwan to play football from October, it means that VTV Binh Dien Long An Club cannot use her for the 2017 Vietnam Super Cup taking place in Thanh Hoa (for the top 4 women's and 4 men's teams of the 2016 season) in mid-October.

However, when VTV Binh Dien Long An Club participates in the 2nd round of the 2017 National Championship, main striker Thanh Thuy will return home to compete (end of November), then return to Taiwan to continue wearing the Attack Line Club shirt to participate in the championship until the end of March 2018.

Attack Line Club does not hide its ambition to become a major force in the Taiwanese championship. After reaching an agreement to borrow the best striker of the Philippines, Alyssa Valdez, it has now invited the number 1 striker of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, Thanh Thuy, to compete.
