Electronics store owner blackmailed with homemade explosives
On January 5, after receiving a parcel containing a homemade mine and a threat demanding 300 million VND, the electronics store owner immediately reported it to the police.
At 5:30 p.m., at an electronics store in the center of Vinh Bao town (Vinh Bao district, Hai Phong), a male shipper residing in Tan Lien commune brought the store owner a carefully packaged parcel, along with an A4 piece of paper titled "Read carefully and do as required."
The paper says this is a package.homemade mineswas automatically activated with 3 detonators, powerful enough to destroy within a range of 30-35 meters. In exchange for safety, the store owner must prepare 300 million VND between 6-7 pm that same day and bring it to the town's resettlement area to enter the designated location. The stranger threatened the store owner that if there were signs of non-cooperation or disclosure of information, he would suffer the consequences...

Receiving the parcel and reading the blackmail threat, the electronics store owner took the parcel and ran to the Vinh Bao district police station about 400 meters away to report.
After checking, Vinh Bao district police discovered a strange substance with many types of electric wires inside the package, so they reported it to the district military command and engineers for handling.
At 10:00 p.m. the same day, authorities tried to neutralize the parcel and determine whether the strange substance inside was explosive or not.
The electronics store owner said he had no conflicts or debts with anyone, and had never been blackmailed before. The case is being investigated by Vinh Bao district police.
