On January 16, Do Luong District People's Court opened a trial of Nguyen Duy Dung (born in 1961, residing in Block 3, Ben Thuy Ward, Vinh City) for the crime of Intentional Infliction of Injury.
The investigation results determined that at around 11:30 a.m. on September 17, 2019, after finishing eating, the paternal and maternal grandchildren were preparing to hold a 100-day ceremony for Mr. Nguyen Duy Dao in Hamlet 3, Lac Son Commune, Do Luong. At this time, Nguyen Duy Dung and his brother Nguyen Duy Hung had a conflict over the offering money.

Nguyen Duy Dung had three previous convictions for drug trafficking. He was sentenced to 30 months in prison, 24 months in prison, and 8 years in prison by the Vinh City People's Court, and was released on July 7, 2018.
