FUJINON (Japan) colonoscopy system with 2 colonoscopes and 1 gastroscope with image processing software system; Tumor cutting and burning system and ulcer hemostasis (or bleeding)... To effectively use these modern equipment, Vinh Transport Hospital selects qualified and experienced doctors to attend training courses at Hanoi Medical University and the Department of Functional Exploration, Bach Mai Hospital.

The digestive system is an important part of the body and is susceptible to diseases ranging from inflammation to cancer. Currently, the method that helps diagnose digestive diseases most accurately and quickly is endoscopy. Patient Nguyen Thi Gia (77 years old) in Hung Tay commune (Hung Nguyen) was hospitalized with the request for interventional endoscopy examination and removal of gastrointestinal polyps.

After taking the necessary steps, the specialist - Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Department administered intravenous anesthesia and through colonoscopy discovered 2 large polyps about 2 cm in size, with relatively wide bases, inflammation, edema and bleeding. Therefore, 3 pieces were cut with biopsy forceps, then a noose was used to cut and burn the bleeding and flush with saline with Adrenaline to stop the bleeding. After the procedure, no bleeding was found and thanks to the attentive nursing care, the patient was discharged from the hospital.

In particular, Vinh Transport Hospital has successfully performed very difficult colonoscopy cases and has been recognized and highly appreciated by the people, such as the colonoscopy case under anesthesia using biopsy forceps to remove a foreign object (a bamboo toothpick with two sharp ends) for patient Nguyen Chi Binh (47 years old) in Hung Dong commune (Vinh city), which was previously scheduled for surgery at some hospitals in Vinh city to remove the foreign object. Through ultrasound and colonoscopy, it was determined that there was a bamboo toothpick foreign object at the ileocecal angle.

The Scientific Council - Hospital conducted a consultation and performed a colonoscopy procedure under anesthesia using biopsy forceps to remove the foreign object. The procedure was successful and a bamboo toothpick with two sharp ends was removed intact. After the procedure, the doctors checked that the injury was stable, with no bleeding. The patient was monitored, and abdominal X-rays showed no signs of perforation of the hollow organ. After treatment, the patient was discharged from the hospital.
