The total number of voters who went to the polls reached nearly 100%, with no area having less than 50%. The city elected 30 National Assembly deputies and 105 City People's Council deputies.
Among the 105 elected delegates to the 15th People's Council, the person with the highest percentage of votes is Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung (reaching about 95%). The person with the lowest number of votes is Mr. Trinh Xuan Quang, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director of HANDIC Consulting Joint Stock Company - Hanoi Housing Investment and Development (over 53%).
Director of the Department of Home Affairs Tran Huy Sang said,The city elected 1,183/1,185 district-level People's Council delegates (2 people were short, but no additional elections were required). At the commune level, the number of delegates elected was 272, more than the required number.16,000 delegates. Therefore, 81 units must elect about 123 additional delegates.
Two areas of opinionVoters suspect members of the Election Committee of violating regulations."After the explanation, the Election Committee counted the votes, recorded the results, ensured compliance with legal regulations and these results were included in the general election results of the four levels," said Mr. Sang.
Two other areas found that the number of ballots collected for the election of commune People's Council delegates was greater than the number issued. However, Mr. Sang said that the difference in the number of votes for the last elected person and the next unsuccessful person was greater than the number of excess votes, so it did not affect the election results.
