US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer have called on Vice President Mike Pence to immediately remove Mr Trump from office.
“I am calling on the Vice President to remove President Trump from office immediately, pursuant to the 25th Amendment of the United States Constitution. If Pence and his Cabinet fail to act, Congress may move forward with impeachment proceedings against the President.Donald Trump. Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said that the riots that occurred on Capitol Hill "were an insurrection incited by the President of the United States against the country, and he should not stay in power for another day."
According to NBC News, the moves to impeach the president took place in the context of Mr. Trump, when participating in a rally held on January 6 outside the White House, calling on a crowd of supporters to march to Capitol Hill and “show strength”. But the rally later turned into a riot, when many extremists stormed the US Capitol and destroyed many properties.
