President of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco officially visits Vietnam
At the invitation of National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, a delegation of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco led by Mr. Habib El Malki, President of the House of Representatives, and his wife paid an official visit to Vietnam from December 16-22.

Members of the Delegation of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco include Mr. Habib El Malki, President of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco; Ms. Sourisse Daniele, Wife of the President of the House of Representatives; Mr. Amal Belcaid, Director of the Foreign Affairs Department, National Assembly of Morocco; Mr. Hassan Najmi, Secretary of the President of the House of Representatives; Mr. Kamal Hachoumy, Secretary of the President of the House of Representatives; Mr. Azzeddine Farhane, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco to Vietnam.
Mr. Habib El Malki, President of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco, was born on April 15, 1946, in Bijaâd, Khouribga Province, Kingdom of Morocco. Mr. Habib El Malki is a professor of economics at Mohammed V University, President of the Mediterranean Research Board (MSRG) and Director of the Moroccan Center for Economic Studies (CMS).
During his tenure, on January 16, 2017, Mr. Habib El Malki was elected President of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco.
On October 12, 1990, Mr. Habib El Malki was appointed by the late King Hassan II as Secretary General of the National Council for Youth and the Future (NCYF); elected as a member of the National Assembly representing the Socialist Union of Popular Forces party in the House of Representatives for the terms: 1997-2002; 2007-2011 and re-elected in 2016; is a member of the "Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco."
In March 1998, he was approved as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and Fisheries in the Transitional Government headed by Abderrahmane El Youssoufi, before being approved as Minister of Education and Youth. In 2004, Habib El Malki was appointed Minister of Education, Higher Education, Personnel Training and Scientific Research.
Regarding awards, Mr. Habib El Malki was awarded the Royal Wissam Medal of Honor; Medal for Economic Contributions by the Luso-Arab Cooperation Institute; and the French Legion of Honor.
The Vietnamese National Assembly welcomed the delegation to affirm Vietnam's foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification of international relations, in which high priority is given to developing multifaceted friendship and cooperation with traditional friends in North Africa.
The visit is an opportunity for the two sides to discuss measures to strengthen parliamentary cooperation within the bilateral and multilateral frameworks; and exchange opinions on regional and international issues of mutual concern./.
