PV:The 3rd Congress of Nghe An Provincial Student Association has just been successfully held, opening a new period with many new opportunities and challenges for Nghe An students on the basis of the achievements that the Association has reaped in the past time. Looking back on the 5-year journey, can you tell us what are the highlights of the Provincial Student Association in the past term?

Comrade Le Van Luong:On a general level, Nghe An students have the awareness to overcome difficulties in studying, training, striving to improve, having a beautiful lifestyle, for the community; caring and taking the right actions in the face of political, economic, and cultural issues of the province and the country, especially issues of security and sovereignty of the Fatherland.

The knowledge economy and the deep and wide integration of the country, the development of Nghe An province in recent times have created great opportunities for students to have a good learning environment, conditions to participate in creative activities, scientific research, culture, arts, sports, volunteering and integration.

The development of the Association is easily seen through the strong imprint of diverse and creative movements, gradually meeting the needs of students such as: "5 Good Students", the program "Lighting up the dreams of Vietnamese youth"...

The movement has been implemented closely following the actual situation at the unit and in accordance with the legitimate needs and interests of students. Many "5 Good Students" club models have been established.

Students are gradually becoming more interested in this activity and introducing many typical "5 Good Students" from school, provincial and central levels.

Activities to create an environment to help students practice ethics, ideals, and manners are focused on by all levels of the Association, proactive in implementation, and mobilizing students to participate.

Evidence is that the university always leads in the number of students participating in the Olympic contest on Marxist-Leninist sciences and Ho Chi Minh ideology "Light to the Way", mobilizing students to contribute dozens of large national flags to the national sovereignty flagpole at Mat Island (Nghe An) and Hon La Island (Quang Binh).

Another success is that students continue to be the core and leading force in the youth volunteer movement for community life.

Volunteer activities such as building new rural areas, urban civilization, free medical care and treatment, summer volunteering, spring volunteering... are organized regularly and practically, creating a good environment for students to practice, experience, affirm the role of students and their dedication to society.

In particular, international student volunteer activities in Laos have been organized effectively, contributing to the implementation of the foreign policy of the Party and State.

The work of building the Association's organization was a bright spot in the last term. The Association at all levels has paid attention to investing in development in both scale and quality through programs, introduction and propaganda activities, especially through social networks, bulletin boards, billboards, to classes and students. The Association has expanded its connections, gathering many students to join the Association. Currently, the whole province has 22,102 members.

PV:The 3rd Provincial Student Association Congress agreed to continue promoting the “5 Good Students” movement and the program to build a strong Association in the next term. So what are the solutions that Nghe An Student Association will aim for to improve the quality of this movement?

Comrade Le Van Luong:To carry out the "5 Good Students" movement and the Nghe An Student Association program in the period of 2018-2023, we focus on 3 major tasks, 8 key targets and have developed 2 projects and 3 programs to implement among Nghe An students.

With “5 Good Students”, the Association determines that the movement is not only limited to the title, but more than that, when mentioning “5 Good Students”, it will be the enthusiastic competitive spirit of students in the fields of study, scientific research, culture, arts, physical education, sports, volunteering, and integration. Therefore, we focus on promoting propaganda and spreading the movement to students, so that student activities in all schools are aimed at helping students themselves clearly realize that striving to achieve the title of “5 Good Students” is the goal in the learning process in the lecture hall.

In addition, the Association has done a good job of promptly discovering and praising typical "5 Good Students" at all levels and introducing these examples to society, especially taking advantage of social networks for propaganda, thereby enhancing the prestige and quality of the title "5 Good Students".

In the period of 2018-2023, the Association will carry out activities to connect "5 Good Students" with agencies, organizations, and businesses to find scholarships and jobs for students who have achieved titles at all levels; at the same time, promote the example of "5 Good Students" to return to support other students to achieve the title.

With the program of building a strong Nghe An Student Association, we focus on strengthening the quality of student association activities. In the period of 2018-2023, the knowledge economy and the 4th industrial revolution, creative startups are booming strongly in all countries in the world, so the Association must adapt and have specific solutions to suit the new situation.

We try to build a variety of types of associations for students to participate effectively, focusing on clubs, teams, and groups. In addition, we aim to improve the quality of the association's staff, considering this a key point to contribute to the success of the association's work.

Accordingly, many training sessions were conducted to discover, nurture and prepare abundant and proactive association staff to carry out the association's movements in the coming time.

PV:To create new vitality for the Association's work and the student movement in the coming time, besides the activities and large programs that are implemented synchronously and widely, what will the Provincial Student Association have to do to truly accompany students in life, study and practice skills to integrate into the world?

Comrade Le Van Luong:In order for the Student Association to fulfill its mission well and increasingly promote its role as a companion, becoming a "trusted friend" of students, the Association must improve its representativeness and practicality in its activities with students.

The practicality is shown in actively supporting students to maximize their qualities and abilities to enrich the activities of the association, thereby grasping the strengths and weaknesses of students to promptly provide effective solutions, helping students improve themselves and be confident when entering the integration process.

The Association also determined that through the movement activities, it will help students clearly orient their key tasks and decide their future by studying, creating, and mastering knowledge, because this is the key to success in the future.

In the context of the country's increasingly deep international integration, it is required that each student, when participating in the current dynamic and highly competitive labor market, must have adequate health, skills, courage, and foreign language proficiency.

Therefore, the Association needs to be sensitive in forecasting, predicting, and providing creative and timely solutions in the Association's work, creating an environment for students to practice and strive.

And finally, I think the most important thing is that the Association will try to help students cultivate ideals in life, great ambitions and aspirations, and a noble national spirit, so that on that foundation, young people have enough confidence to firmly integrate into society, the region and the world.
