The President cordially inquired about the work and living conditions of the officers and soldiers of the units.

In the atmosphere of preparing to welcome the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2013, on February 4th, President Truong Tan Sang visited the 1st Special Forces Unit and the 205th Communications Brigade of the Signal Corps. There, the President had a conversation with the officers, soldiers, and people living on the beloved Truong Sa Islands.

Visiting the 205th Signal Brigade, a heroic unit established in 1958, whose mission is to ensure communication for major political events of the Party, State, and military, as well as A2 missions, search and rescue, flood and storm prevention, and many other unexpected tasks. Over 55 years of development and growth, the 205th Signal Brigade has consistently excelled in fulfilling its assigned duties.

Engaging in a cordial conversation with officers and soldiers of Brigade 205, the President cordially inquired about the work and living conditions of the unit's officers and soldiers. The President highly praised Brigade 205 for its ability to both update its knowledge of new information technology and combine it with traditional communication methods of the communications corps. The President emphasized that, given the increasingly difficult and complex developments in the region and the world, maintaining communication plays a crucial role.

The Chairman emphasized that, as a unit with a long tradition, closely linked to the continuous growth and development of the armed forces, the officers and soldiers of the brigade need to continue to overcome difficulties, strive diligently, and fulfill the tasks assigned by the Party and the State in the new situation.

Also at this location, through the communication system of Brigade 205, the President listened to reports from the leaders of the government and the town of Truong Sa and Nam Yet Island in Truong Sa district, Khanh Hoa province, on the preparations for Tet. The President expressed his concern, extended his best wishes, and wished the people of Truong Sa district a joyful and happy Lunar New Year of the Snake.



Visiting Special Forces Unit 1

Also on the morning of February 4th, the President visited Special Forces Unit 1, Special Forces Command. With its exceptional tradition of elite bravery and outstanding achievements, striking decisively and achieving great victories, Special Forces Unit 1 has been honored by the Party and State with the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

The President observed the troops demonstrating the highly skilled tactical techniques of the special forces. Through arduous training, the soldiers of the 1st Special Forces Regiment have studied the essence of traditional martial arts and other martial arts schools around the world, combining combat skills in all terrains and circumstances to develop systematic and highly professional training curricula and lesson plans for the unit. The President personally visited the training ground, encouraged the officers and soldiers, and inquired about the arduous training process of the special forces.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, the President wished the officers and soldiers a happy Lunar New Year and success in fulfilling the important responsibilities entrusted to them by the Party and State. The President reminded them that during wartime, the special forces officers and soldiers had achieved many glorious victories, enriching the glorious history of the army.

In peacetime, special forces, as a highly elite branch of the military, need to further enhance and uphold their traditions, thoroughly understand the Party and State's policies and guidelines, and coordinate with other forces to effectively carry out the task of firmly protecting the independence, sovereignty, and peace of the Fatherland and its people.
