President meets with US, Russian and Chinese Presidents in Peru
Arriving in Peru to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, President Tran Dai Quang today had many important meetings with world leaders.

On November 19, local time, or November 20, Hanoi time, in Lima, Peru, on the occasion of attending the 24th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Week, President Tran Dai Quang had many meetings and contacts with APEC leaders, including the President of China, the President of Russia, Chile and the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea.
At the Vietnam-China high-level talks, the two leaders said that the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership has continued to maintain positive momentum of development in recent times. Strengthening political trust and promoting extensive and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties and two countries is in line with the fundamental interests of the people of both sides.
The two leaders also said that in the context of complicated developments in the world and the region, the two sides need to regularly exchange strategies, properly resolve disagreements, and promote cooperation for common interests as well as for peace, stability and development in the region.
President Tran Dai Quang congratulated the successful organization of the 6th Central Conference of the 18th Party Congress of the Communist Party of China.
The President expressed his hope that the two countries will continue to maintain delegation exchanges and high-level contacts, promote substantive cooperation between ministries, sectors and localities, and enhance people-to-people and youth exchanges.
The President suggested that China coordinate with Vietnam to take measures to ensure balanced and sustainable development of bilateral trade relations, improve the quality and efficiency of Chinese investment projects in Vietnam, and remove difficulties in cooperation areas.
Sharing the views of President Tran Dai Quang, Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed on the need to strengthen the political foundation for bilateral relations and thanked the Party, State and people of Vietnam for giving Chairman of the National People's Congress Zhang Dejiang a warm and thoughtful welcome during his recent visit to Vietnam.
The Chinese President hopes that the two countries will make good use of the Vietnam-China Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee mechanism to further promote mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, including in the infrastructure sector.
Chinese President Xi Jinping once again congratulated President Tran Dai Quang on his election as President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
Chinese President Xi Jinping affirmed that promoting friendly relations and cooperation in all fields with Vietnam is the consistent policy of the Chinese Party, State and people.

At the Vietnam-Russia summit, President Tran Dai Quang and Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed their satisfaction with the rapid development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, and wished to work together to create a more solid foundation for bilateral relations in all fields of economics, trade, investment, tourism, education and training, defense and security, etc.
President Tran Dai Quang suggested that the two sides maintain high-level exchanges and contacts at all levels and closely coordinate in effectively implementing the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union.
The President also requested relevant Russian agencies to create favorable conditions for Vietnam to export consumer goods, aquatic and seafood products to Russia, and take measures to ensure the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese people living and working in the Russian Federation.
President Putin affirmed that Russia highly values the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, and wishes to continue to strengthen bilateral relations with Vietnam, especially in the fields of economics, trade, education and training, science and technology, etc.
Emphasizing that the ratification and implementation of the Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union is a new milestone in the relationship between the two countries, Russian President Putin believes that the good implementation of the agreement will open up many opportunities to further promote the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
At a meeting with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet, in the context of Vietnam and Chile celebrating the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1971 - 2016), President Tran Dai Quang suggested that both sides make efforts to promote the signing of cooperation agreements to create more favorable conditions for bilateral relations.
The President hopes that Chile will closely coordinate and effectively support Vietnam in APEC Year 2017, and affirmed that Vietnam supports Chile in hosting APEC in 2019.
President Michelle Bachelet affirmed that Chile values and wishes to further promote the Comprehensive Partnership with Vietnam, and supports and is ready to closely coordinate for the success of APEC Vietnam 2017 and APEC Chile 2019.
Receiving Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, President Tran Dai Quang expressed his delight at seeing the two countries' relationship continuously developing in many fields.
The President asked Canada to create more favorable conditions for Vietnamese students to study and research in Canada, maintaining Vietnam's position as the Southeast Asian country with the most students in Canada.
The Canadian Prime Minister wished to further promote economic and trade relations with Vietnam, highly appreciated Vietnam's role in the region and affirmed to continue close coordination with Vietnam at regional and international forums and organizations.
On the same day, President Tran Dai Quang received Papua New Guinea Prime Minister Peter O'Neill and had meetings with US President Barack Obama, Brunei Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah and Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
President Tran Dai Quang thanked the leaders and people of Brunei and Singapore for their warm and sincere welcome during his State visit to the two Southeast Asian countries in August.
The leaders of Brunei and Singapore highly appreciated the visit of President Tran Dai Quang, affirming that they will continue to closely coordinate with Vietnam to implement the important results of the visit.
US President Barack Obama meanwhile expressed his gratitude to the Vietnamese State and people for their warm welcome during his visit to Vietnam in May.
