President sends letter of condolences to victims of Agent Orange/dioxin. |
On the occasion of "Day forAgent Orange/dioxin victims"(August 10), I would like to send my warmest regards and deepest sympathy to the victims and families of Agent Orange/dioxin victims nationwide.
It has been 60 years since the Agent Orange/dioxin disaster occurred in Vietnam (August 10, 1961 - August 10, 2021), but the losses and pain that this disaster caused in our country are still extremely serious and cruel, with severe consequences and sequelae, affecting many generations.
Over the years, the Party, the State and the people have shown great concern, shared, sympathized, wished for and supported victims of Agent Orange/dioxin to overcome illness and difficulties, and strive to improve their lives. In particular, I especially commend the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin for their continuous efforts, perseverance, and effective activities, truly being the core in overcoming the consequences of the Agent Orange/dioxin disaster, representing the fight for justice and fairness for the victims. I admire and commend the victims and their families for their efforts to overcome the consequences and illnesses, and firmly integrate into life.
The deep sympathy and practical support from organizations, philanthropists at home and abroad, and international friends for Vietnamese victims of Agent Orange/dioxin are also noble and highly appreciated gestures.
I hope that Party committees at all levels, authorities, unions, organizations, and individuals of our compatriots at home and abroad will continue to promote the nation's fine tradition of "mutual love and support", help and support more in overcoming the consequences of the Agent Orange/dioxin disaster, and care for victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, especially during the period when the whole country is making efforts to overcome difficulties and challenges to repel the COVID-19 pandemic.
With confidence in the effectiveness of joining hands to overcome the Agent Orange/dioxin disaster, I wish the victims and their families to be safe from the epidemic, always be resilient and full of determination to continue promoting the spirit of self-reliance, striving to make life better and better./.
Friendly!
Nguyen Xuan Phuc
