Reporting to the President's working delegation, Major General Pham The Tung - Director of the Provincial Police Department summarized the outstanding results achieved by Nghe An Police in 2021.

Under the direction of the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council, and the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Police have done a good job of advising on ensuring national security and maintaining social order and safety, notably ensuring absolute safety for the 13th National Congress of the Party; Election of the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term.

The provincial police have fought fiercely and effectively against all types of crimes, including a 11% reduction in crimes against social order compared to the same period; more than 140 bunkers, drug dens, and drug retail points have been eliminated right at the grassroots level, along with preventing drugs from entering Vietnam from across the border. These results have brought a more peaceful life to the people. All work targets have been completed and excellently completed compared to the targets assigned by the National Assembly and the Ministry of Public Security.

The Party Committee and leaders of the Provincial Police always pay special attention to and do a good job in Party building and force building; proactively, flexibly, sensitively and promptly complete the organization and establishment of a regular commune police apparatus in 428/428 communes and towns, 8 months ahead of the schedule assigned by the Government.

In addition, as a result of the visit and work of the President in the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Laos, Nghe An Police has deployed the construction of working headquarters of the Public Security of 09 villages of Laos.

In the work of preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic, the entire Nghe An Police force has been on the front line; in which, the Provincial Police have assigned more than 4,000 officers and soldiers to be on duty at epidemic prevention and control checkpoints. With the spirit of "leaving no one behind", the Provincial Police directly visited and called for support and encouragement for the frontline forces participating in the prevention and control of the epidemic with a total amount of more than 2 billion VND.

With its achievements and feats, Nghe An Police has been honored to receive the Excellent Emulation Flag from the Prime Minister for 6 consecutive years (from 2015 to present); for 6 consecutive years (from 2016 to present), the Ministry of Public Security has ranked first in the entire force in administrative reform.

In 2021, the Provincial Police Department had 12 groups and individuals awarded Medals of various ranks by the President; 37 groups and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister; nearly 600 groups and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Minister of Public Security and the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. The Provincial Police Department is striving to be honored by the President with the title of Heroic Unit of the People's Armed Forces in the Renewal Period.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc acknowledged and commended the achievements of officers and soldiers of Nghe An Police.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized: Nghe An is the largest locality in the country; mountainous terrain, long and rugged border with Laos. The religious and domestic security situation is potentially complicated. However, in recent times, Nghe An Provincial Police have strived, achieved many achievements, and contributed to the development of the locality. The unit has done a good job of building the force, promoting the spirit of solidarity, unanimity, and discipline in the leadership.

The President hopes that the provincial police force will continue to improve its political quality and professional skills, and promote the achievements to work with the Party Committee, government and people to maintain security, order and social safety to serve the development of the homeland.

Currently, the regular police force has been reinforced in all communes. Initially, there are certain difficulties, but we believe that Nghe An Police will promote their role and responsibility at the grassroots level, together with the entire political system and local people to ensure national defense and security, fight against crime, and defeat the plots of hostile forces.

With the assigned tasks, Nghe An Provincial Police need to clearly grasp the situation and activities of new types of crimes, drug crimes; religious security situation, economic security... Thereby promoting proactiveness, creativity, and determination in performing assigned tasks. Along with that, it is necessary to pay attention to the work of building the grassroots police force; thereby maximizing the role of this force in proactively working with the people to effectively fight against all types of crimes; At the same time, proactively coordinate with functional forces to firmly grasp the situation, ensure security and order in remote areas, border areas.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Phuc believes that with the solidarity and unanimity of the leadership, officers and soldiers, Nghe An Provincial Police will successfully complete its tasks and take the lead in the emulation movements of the industry. Thereby, it will be worthy of the trust of the provincial Party Committee, serve the local development well and maintain the peaceful life of the people.

The President wished the officers and soldiers of Nghe An Public Security to overcome all difficulties to excellently fulfill their tasks and strive to become a heroic unit of the people's armed forces in the renewal period as the set goal.
