President To Lam hosts welcoming ceremony for Russian President Putin
On the morning of June 20, at the Presidential Palace, an official ceremony was held to welcome Russian President Vladimir Putin on his state visit to Vietnam with the most solemn ceremony.


12:25: After the State welcoming ceremony, in the Mirror Room of the Presidential Palace, President To Lam and President Putin took a souvenir photo.

The two leaders led high-level delegations from both countries to hold talks, evaluate the results of cooperation between the two countries in the past and propose directions for cooperation in the future. The leaders will then co-chair a joint press conference to announce the results of the talks.

12:15: The motorcade carrying the Russian President enters the Presidential Palace. President To Lam comes to the car door to welcome him.
President To Lam shook hands and talked with President Putin. The two leaders smiled and waved to the joyful cheers of children in the capital with Vietnamese and Russian flags.
The two leaders stepped onto the podium. The military band played the national anthems of Russia and Vietnam.
At the same time, at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, 21 rounds of cannons were fired to welcome the visit of the President and the delegation of the Russian Federation. At the Presidential Palace, the LED screen broadcast live the cannon firing.


President To Lam hosted the official welcoming ceremony for Russian President Vladimir Putin on a state visit to Vietnam. Mr. Putin is the first foreign leader that President To Lam has welcomed in his new position.

The honor guard carrying guns and the military band entered the Presidential Palace yard, forming a formation to prepare for the welcoming ceremony that would take place in a few minutes.

Hanoi is bright yellow with the national flags of both countries fluttering in the wind, standing out against the sky. A 21-gun salute is expected to be fired at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long to welcome President Putin's visit. This is the most solemn ceremony to welcome a head of state.
After the State-level welcoming ceremony, President To Lam and President Putin will lead high-ranking delegations from the two countries to hold talks, evaluate the results of cooperation between the two countries in recent times, and propose directions for cooperation in the future.





After the talks, the two leaders will co-chair a joint press conference to announce the results of the talks.
Russian President Putin will hold talks with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and meet with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh. This afternoon and evening, Mr. Putin will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum before meeting with National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man. He and President To Lam will meet with members of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association and former students who studied in Russia, then attend a state reception.
This is the fifth time President Vladimir Putin has visited Vietnam. This visit is of great significance, further deepening the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in all areas, especially in the context of the two countries' efforts to realize the Joint Statement on the Vision of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership to 2030.
