President Tran Dai Quang visits Saint Petersburg city

On the afternoon of June 30, local time (evening of the same day, Hanoi time), President Tran Dai Quang and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, left Moscow to visit Saint Petersburg, continuing activities within the framework of his official visit to the Russian Federation.

The official farewell ceremony was solemnly held at Vnucovo-2 airport. Earlier, in the afternoon of the same day, President Tran Dai Quang received the Governor of Kaluga region, Mr. Anatoly Artamonov.

Announcing the results achieved during his official visit to the Russian Federation, President Tran Dai Quang highly appreciated and thanked the Kaluga region government for providing much support to Vietnamese enterprises investing in the region, thereby contributing to the early achievement of the bilateral trade turnover target of 10 billion USD by 2020 set by the two countries' senior leaders. President Tran Dai Quang hoped that the Kaluga region government and people would continue to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to invest and do business successfully here.

Expressing his gratitude to President Tran Dai Quang for taking the time to meet him, Governor Anatoly Artamonov said that the Russian people are very interested in following the President's official visit to the Russian Federation, because the Russia-Vietnam relationship is a comprehensive strategic partnership. Governor Anatoly Artamonov reported to President Tran Dai Quang on the economic development strengths of Kaluga, the region's cooperation activities with businesses, including Vietnam's TH Truemilk company.

Governor Anatoly Artamonov said that Russia-Vietnam relations will be further strengthened if localities of the two countries cooperate closely with each other. Governor Anatoly Artamonov expressed his wish that Kaluga would establish a twin relationship with a locality of Vietnam; affirming that Kaluga wishes to become a reliable partner of Vietnam.

Also on the afternoon of June 30, President Tran Dai Quang had a meeting with the Board of Directors of the Russian International Economic Development Bank.

President Tran Dai Quang expressed his gratitude for the support of the Russian International Economic Development Bank for Vietnamese enterprises investing and doing business in the Russian Federation.

The President emphasized that, with the policy of the senior leaders of Vietnam and the Russian Federation, the central banks of the two countries will coordinate to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese and Russian enterprises to cooperate in investment and business in each other's territories. The success of enterprises of the two countries will contribute to common development, thereby developing economic, trade and investment relations commensurate with the foundation of good political relations.

On the same morning, in Moscow, President Tran Dai Quang and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation visited Zarubezhneft Group, one of the leading oil and gas groups in the Russian Federation:

Congratulating the important achievements and contributions of Zarubezhneft Group to the development of the Russian Federation in recent times, President Tran Dai Quang emphasized that in the overall traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, cooperation in the oil, gas and energy sector occupies an important position and is considered one of the areas of long-term and effective strategic cooperation.

President Tran Dai Quang highly appreciated the cooperation between Zarubezhneft Group and Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group, in which VietsovPetro Joint Venture is a symbol of this effective cooperation.

Since its establishment in 1981, Vietsovpetro has made a great contribution to the budgets of Vietnam and the Russian Federation, and is also the cradle of training oil and gas staff for Vietnam. In recent years, the scale and scope of cooperation between Zarubezhneft and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group have been expanding, clearly demonstrated by the effective operation of the RusvietPetro Joint Venture in the Nenetskiy Autonomous Region, Russian Federation.

Encouraging and supporting the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the field of oil and gas exploration and exploitation, President Tran Dai Quang wished that the cooperation between the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group and Zarubezhneft would be increasingly strengthened, contributing positively to the socio-economic development of the two countries and consolidating the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.
