President Tran Dai Quang receives Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Korea

On the afternoon of August 28, at the Presidential Palace, President Tran Dai Quang received the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Korea who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

At the reception, President Tran Dai Quang welcomed the Korean Court delegation to visit Vietnam.

The President emphasized that the visit is of utmost importance in strengthening cooperation between the courts of the two countries.

The President highly appreciated the achievements that the Korean Court system has made in the process of reform and development such as: the litigation model at court, the electronic litigation model, the organization of court administrative management agencies and the establishment of the Patent Court.

The President congratulated the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Korea on his visit to Vietnam.

The President emphasized the important role of the court system in building a rule of law state, protecting justice and protecting human rights in each country.

The President affirmed the strong support of the State and Government of Vietnam for promoting cooperation between the Courts of the two countries.

The President thanked and appreciated the enthusiastic support and assistance of the Supreme Court of Korea in promoting and implementing the Project "Enhancing the Capacity of the Court Cadre School" (now the Court Academy).

The President affirmed the importance of the need for cooperation, learning and experience exchange between the Courts of the two countries in the context of Vietnam's judicial and legal systems undergoing extensive reforms.

The President hopes that the Supreme People's Court of Vietnam will cooperate with Korean partners, including the Supreme Court of Korea and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), to take advantage of Korea's resources and experience in reforming and developing the Court system.

The President supports the Supreme People's Court and the Korea International Cooperation Agency to soon develop and implement the project "Enhancing transparency and improving the quality of trials at Vietnamese courts".

The President emphasized that this is a project of special importance to the Vietnamese judiciary, which on the one hand will contribute to helping Vietnam continue to implement its judicial reform goals, and on the other hand will be a solid bridge for the Courts of the two countries to carry out cooperation activities.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Korea expressed his honor to meet President Tran Dai Quang and thanked the President for taking the time to receive the delegation.

Mr. Yang Sung-tae stated that the relationship between Korea and Vietnam is a strategic cooperative partnership, which is increasingly being consolidated and strengthened. Along with that, the two countries have many similarities in history and culture.

Chief Justice Yang Sung-tae said that based on that foundation, diplomatic relations between the two countries are increasingly developing.

Mr. Yang Sung-tae emphasized that cooperation between the Korean Court and the Vietnamese Court is increasingly developing such as: Exchange of high-level delegations and sharing of experiences in the judicial field between the two courts.

Chief Justice Yang Sung-tae said that the two courts are implementing the project “Enhancing Transparency and Improving Trial Quality in Vietnamese Courts”.

Chief Justice Yang Sung-tae hopes that the President will continue to pay attention and support this project.

The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Korea affirmed that in his position, he will do his utmost to promote the cooperative relationship between the two countries in general and the two courts in particular to develop further and become more in-depth and effective./.
