President and his wife leave for an official visit to Cuba

President Tran Dai Quang and his wife, along with a high-ranking delegation from Vietnam, left for an official visit to the Republic of Cuba from November 15 to 17, 2016.

At the invitation of President of the Council of State and Council of Ministers of Cuba Raul Castro, today (November 15), President Tran Dai Quang and his wife, along with a high-ranking delegation of our country, left for an official visit to the Republic of Cuba from November 15 to 17, 2016.

Participating in the high-ranking delegation of our country during the official visit to the Republic of Cuba were: Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai; Party Central Committee member, Head of the Office of the President Dao Viet Trung; Party Central Committee member, Minister of Construction Pham Hong Ha; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc; Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Duong Minh; Deputy Minister of Public Security Bui Van Thanh; Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai; Deputy Minister of Finance Tran Xuan Ha; Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Dao Quang Thu; Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Vo Van Tuan.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the solidarity, mutual support and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba have been continuously consolidated and developed. President Tran Dai Quang's visit to Cuba this time demonstrates Vietnam's appreciation and determination to continue strengthening the fraternal solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the Parties, States and people of the two countries.

On this occasion, the leaders of the two countries will exchange and agree on directions and measures to strengthen bilateral relations in the new development stage in each country.

Concluding his official visit to the Republic of Cuba, at the invitation of Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynsky, President Tran Dai Quang and his wife will attend the 24th Summit Week of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum held in Lima, Peru from November 17 to 20, 2016.
