President Vo Van Thuong commends the 'golden faces' of the Vietnam Sports Delegation
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 23, at the Presidential Palace, President Vo Van Thuong met and commended outstanding athletes and coaches of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 32nd SEA Games.
On the morning of May 23, at the Presidential Palace, President Vo Van Thuong had a friendly meeting and commended more than 100 outstanding athletes and coaches of the Vietnam Sports Delegation at the recent 32nd SEA Games. Also attending the meeting were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung.

At the 32nd SEA Games, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation officially won the overall first place with 136 Gold Medals, 105 Silver Medals and 114 Bronze Medals. This was the most successful Games in history when the Vietnamese Sports Delegation competed abroad.

Appreciating the determination, will and hard work of each athlete, President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that the achievements of the delegation left an impression on fans about an emotional SEA Games, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, nobility and purity of Vietnamese sports.

President Vo Van Thuong affirmed that the Party, State and people always pay attention and care to the country's sports career, including high-performance sports, with the awareness that physical education and sports are also "a work in revolutionary work" as President Ho Chi Minh once taught.

Speaking at the meeting, coaches and athletes expressed their appreciation to the Party, State, ministries, branches, sponsors and especially fans for always caring, supporting, encouraging and being the fulcrum for achieving high achievements in sports.
Honored to speak on behalf of the athletes at the meeting, athlete Le Khanh Hung (15 years old), who helped the Vietnamese Sports Delegation win the first Gold Medal in Golf at the SEA Games, expressed his pride in wearing the national flag when winning the Gold Medal. This is the support and belief for Khanh Hung and his teammates to continue to train hard, strive, and achieve higher achievements for the country's sports.
