National Assembly Chairman begins official visit to Czech Republic
Upon arrival at the airport, the National Assembly Chairman and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly visited and worked with officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic.

National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan announced the purpose of the visit and the delegation's activities to promote and deepen the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with the Czech Republic in general and with the Czech National Assembly in particular.
The National Assembly Chairman also informed the officials and representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic about the socio-economic development situation in the country. He said that the economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries are still limited and not commensurate with the potential for cooperation and the desires of the two sides.
Therefore, the National Assembly Chairman requested the Embassy and the Vietnamese Community in the Czech Republic to, within their capacity, promote this cooperative relationship to further develop in the coming time.

The political and diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Czech Republic have developed well. This year, after the visit of the Chairman of the National Assembly and the high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly, there will be a state visit to Vietnam by Czech President Milos Zeman in June.

The National Assembly Chairman also said that overseas Vietnamese in the Czech Republic have the advantage of being recognized by the Czech Government as a part of the community as an ethnic minority.
The National Assembly Chairman requested the embassy to perform its functions well in protecting citizens, to unite and stick together to make practical contributions. The important thing is to maintain the prestige of the Vietnamese people, to be exemplary in abiding by the law and to do business successfully in the host country.

In the upcoming 4th session of the National Assembly (convened in October this year), the National Assembly will consider amending the Law on Diplomatic Missions Abroad. The National Assembly Chairman requested the Embassy to actively participate in assessing the implementation of the Law, proposing and recommending specific regulations that need to be amended and supplemented to suit the new situation, to be submitted to the National Assembly for consideration and decision.
The National Assembly Chairman also expressed his belief that the Embassy's staff will strengthen solidarity and responsibility, constantly improve their professional qualifications and skills to meet the increasing demands in the period of comprehensive international integration; worthy of the trust of the Party, State and National Assembly.
