Speaker of the National Assembly: This is a glorious responsibility entrusted to the ambassadors by the Party, the State, and the people.
On the morning of June 25th, at the National Assembly headquarters, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung cordially received 21 Ambassadors and Heads of Vietnamese representative offices abroad for the 2013-2016 term.
At the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung congratulated the newly appointed Ambassadors and Heads of Vietnamese representative offices abroad, emphasizing that this is a glorious responsibility entrusted to them by the Party, State, and people. Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung expressed his hope that the Ambassadors and Heads of Vietnamese representative offices abroad would continuously strive to enhance the country's position on the international stage.
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung requested that Ambassadors and Heads of Representative Offices continue to build upon the achievements of the Party and State's foreign affairs work in recent years; actively seek and mobilize the support of other countries and the international community for Vietnam both politically and economically, contributing to the process of integration, national construction and development. At the same time, they should actively support overseas Vietnamese and protect citizens, considering this a regular task, providing spiritual, informational, and legal support for overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese businesses.
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung instructed Ambassadors and Heads of Vietnamese representative offices abroad to closely coordinate with the Foreign Affairs Committee and the National Assembly Office to further strengthen relations between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the legislative bodies of host countries; to establish good relations with parliamentarians and parliamentary friendship groups of other countries, contributing to deepening, stabilizing, and sustaining parliamentary cooperation; and to coordinate well with domestic and foreign agencies to successfully organize the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly in Vietnam in early 2015.
