The Chairman of the National Assembly congratulated the Government, the National Assembly, and the people of Myanmar on their achievements in recent times, especially in promoting national harmony, economic development, improving people's lives, and expanding foreign relations. Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung expressed his confidence that the National Assembly of the Union of Myanmar will always enjoy the trust and confidence of the people of Myanmar, and will actively cooperate with the Government of Myanmar in the cause of building and developing a prosperous country, bringing a life of abundance and happiness to its people.
Located in Southeast Asia, sharing the Mekong River, and with many similarities in history, culture, and customs, Vietnam and Myanmar have a proud history of relations, built on the tireless efforts of generations of leaders and people from both countries. Myanmar enthusiastically supported Vietnam in its struggle for national liberation and reunification.
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung emphasized that the good friendship between the two countries is increasingly flourishing, achieving many positive results and bringing practical benefits to the people of both countries. The two sides regularly exchange delegations at all levels as well as engage in people-to-people exchanges, thereby further strengthening mutual understanding and trust.
Vietnam and Myanmar are deeply concerned about the existing threats to peace and security in the region, including the South China Sea issue, as well as emerging non-traditional security issues such as climate change, rising sea levels, epidemics, and water resources.
Both sides are also concerned that ASEAN's role and prestige are being challenged by unfavorable regional and international impacts, as well as internal issues within the bloc. This further necessitates cooperation between the two countries in particular and the region in general.
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung emphasized: “Continuing to strengthen and develop the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Myanmar is not only an objective requirement for development but also the aspiration of the people, the responsibility of the leaders of both countries, and a factor ensuring the successful implementation of the reform and development process of each country; at the same time contributing to maintaining and consolidating peace, stability, cooperation and prosperity in the region and the world.”
National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung affirmed that the achievements made in the past period are a solid foundation for the relationship between the two countries and the two National Assemblies to continue developing, aiming for a new level.
