Vietnam strongly supports and facilitates Korean investors in investing in Vietnam.

During his visit to South Korea, on the morning of July 22nd, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung met with leaders of several leading economic groups in the country and leaders of the Korea-Vietnam Friendship Association.

The Speaker of the National Assembly affirmed that Vietnam creates all favorable conditions for Korean investors and hopes that Korean economic groups will increase investment, business, technology transfer, and training of high-quality human resources for Vietnam.

During a meeting with leaders of the Korea Telecom Corporation and Samsung Group, one of South Korea's leading economic conglomerates, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung welcomed the two corporations in particular, and Korean economic conglomerates in general, for their active investment and trade activities in Vietnam. The activities of Korean economic conglomerates, including Samsung, are not only significant in the field of economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Vietnam and South Korea, contributing to the common prosperity of both countries, but also serve as a solid bridge and foundation for the increasingly strengthened and developed strategic partnership and friendship between Vietnam and South Korea.

Samsung Group Chairman Kim Jae-kwon and Chairman and CEO of Korea Telecom Group Lee Suk-chae expressed their gratitude for the attention and support of the Vietnamese Government and ministries in facilitating the Group's investment and expansion. Samsung Group has invested in building its seventh largest mobile phone manufacturing plant in the Yen Phong Industrial Park, Bac Ninh province, with a registered capital of US$670 million, employing 18,000 Vietnamese workers. Recently, Samsung commenced construction of its second high-tech complex in the Yen Binh Industrial Park, Thai Nguyen province, with an investment of US$3.2 billion. Meanwhile, Korea Telecom Group has fully prepared the necessary financial and equipment conditions to invest in high-end hotel and resort projects in Quang Ninh and Hoa Binh provinces of Vietnam.

Samsung Group Chairman Kim Jae-kwon stated that the company will increase investment to make Vietnam the world's largest producer of mobile phones and cameras. Samsung Group hopes that the Vietnamese Government and National Assembly will continue to support and facilitate the expansion of its research and development center in Vietnam to attract and train a talented workforce to meet the Group's production needs and contribute to Vietnam's development.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung affirmed that Vietnam strongly supports and facilitates Korean investors in Vietnam, while encouraging Vietnamese investors to invest in Korea. The difficulties regarding administrative procedures faced by Korean investors will be addressed and resolved by the Vietnamese Government, National Assembly, and relevant ministries and agencies. Chairman Hung expressed confidence that investment projects by Samsung and other Korean economic groups in Vietnam will operate effectively, develop sustainably, and achieve long-term growth.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung highly appreciated Samsung's international reputation and its investment and development in Vietnam; he hoped that businesses implementing large projects in Vietnam would achieve success. The Vietnamese National Assembly and Government fully support Korean investors. These investors not only contribute to economic development but also to the development of strategic cooperation between the two countries.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly and Government will actively coordinate with the Korean National Assembly and Government to create a favorable investment and trade environment for businesses of the two countries, including Samsung Group and Korea Telecom Group, to strengthen economic, trade, and investment cooperation.

**During a meeting with leaders of the Korea-Vietnam Friendship Association, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung highly appreciated the Association's contributions to preserving and developing friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries over the past time. The Association's activities, such as providing financial support to Vietnamese associations, student associations, and associations of Vietnamese women married to Korean men, have contributed to improving the cultural and spiritual lives of the Vietnamese community and creating favorable conditions to support them in doing business, living, and studying in Korea.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung emphasized that the Korea-Vietnam Friendship Association plays an important role in promoting cooperation between the two countries in the fields of politics, economics, culture, education, health, and parliamentary cooperation. The Chairman affirmed that the solidarity between the two Associations and the people of the two countries will contribute to development, peace, and stability in Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Asia in particular, and the world in general.

National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung expressed his hope and belief that the Friendship Associations of the two countries will continue to closely cooperate, protect and maintain the diplomatic achievements, friendship, and comprehensive cooperation that have been attained, overcome difficulties, and promote even better cooperation…

Chairman of the Korea-Vietnam Friendship Association, Choi Young-joo, affirmed that the Association will actively promote cultural exchange and friendship between the two countries and encourage Korean businesses to invest in Vietnam. The Korea-Vietnam Friendship Association will strive to cultivate friendship between the people of the two countries.

Later that afternoon, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Chung Hong-won, hold talks with Speaker of the National Assembly Kang Chang-hee, and visit the Korea Development Institute and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology.
