Chairman of EVN Group inspects and urges progress of 500kV line project, circuit 3

On June 1, the Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Group and the working delegation inspected and urged the progress of the 500kV line project, circuit 3, at the construction site in Hoang Mai town (Nghe An).

The 500kV line project, circuit 3, Quang Trach (Quang Binh) - Pho Noi (Hung Yen) has an estimated total length of about 519 km, with a total investment of more than 22,000 billion VND.

Upon completion, the project will strengthen and increase the capacity of the 500kV transmission grid in the North - Central region from 2,200 MW to 5,000 MW. At the same time, the project will contribute to ensuring electricity supply for the North, especially during the dry season and minimizing power outages during hot days.

Up to now, 1,177 foundation positions of the Project have been basically completed and have moved to the stage of focusing on erecting columns. The contractors have supplied 742 steel columns to the construction site, completed and are erecting 731 columns, and completed and are pulling wires for 37 anchorages.

Nghe An province is currently implementing 2 projects on the 500kV line 3.

Project one is the 500kV Quang Trach - Quynh Luu line with a total investment of nearly 9,821 billion VND. Of which, the line passing through Nghe An province is about 82.33 km long, including 168 pole foundation locations, located in the following areas: Nam Dan district (25.20km, 51 locations), Nghi Loc (14.30km, 29 locations), Dien Chau (22.60km, 47 locations), Yen Thanh (10.80km, 22 locations), and Quynh Luu (9.40km, 19 locations).

The second project is the 500kV Quynh Luu - Thanh Hoa line with a total investment of more than 4,079 billion VND. Of which, the line running through Nghe An province is about 17.5km long, including 34 column foundation locations, located in Quynh Luu district (9.80km, 19 locations), Hoang Mai town (7.70km, 15 locations).

Faced with the urgent need to concentrate efforts and strive to meet the schedule committed to the Government, Vietnam Electricity Group has mobilized and increased 119 teams (each team has 12-15 people) with more than 1,500 engineers and workers from 5 Power Corporations: North, Central, South, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the construction of poles and wire pulling of the 500kV line project, circuit 3.

In particular, the Northern Power Corporation sent 28 shock teams with more than 300 engineers and workers from 27 Power Companies and Northern Power Services Companies to support the construction at the 500kV circuit 3 construction site. Nghe An Power Company also had 22 engineers and workers volunteering to reinforce this time.

Volunteer and shock troops are tasked with coordinating with local forces to urgently erect poles, especially anchor pole positions, ensuring progress by June 20 to complete the assigned work in order to pull wires and turn on electricity on schedule.

From May 30, the shock teams have been on site. From June 1, the teams will deploy their assigned work.

On the afternoon of June 1, Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Group Dang Hoang An inspected the construction progress at column 20 and encouraged reinforcement teams from Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation. Currently, column 20 has completed the foundation and the column erection has begun.

During the inspection, EVN leaders acknowledged and highly appreciated the contractors' efforts to adhere to the set plan. At the same time, the Group's Chairman emphasized that contractors should focus highly, prioritize human resources, machinery, and vehicles, and promote the application of science and technology in construction investment to shorten construction time.

The Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Group requested that during the construction process, absolute safety of people and equipment must be ensured. Nghe An is a locality with harsh weather, especially in the hot season. Therefore, Mr. Dang Hoang An also noted that the working groups need to arrange accommodation and suitable working hours to ensure the health of engineers and workers as well as ensure the progress of the project. At the same time, the units also need to arrange additional medical staff to participate in support when necessary.
