Mr. Tuan emphasized: "Regarding the situation of Cai Lay BOT, the province has made an urgent report, asking for the Prime Minister's direction."
Mr. Tuan admitted that in the Cai Lay BOT case, the local government was partly responsible.
According to him, initially, the province proposed to the Ministry of Transport to invest in building Cai Lay toll station based on the budget.
However, due to the difficult situation and limited budget, the province has called for investment from other sources.
"The developments at Cai Lay BOT in recent days were unpredictable and beyond the control of local authorities," said Mr. Tuan.
He emphasized that the provincial government is seeking every measure to stabilize the situation, and the direction to resolve and handle the incident from Cai Lay BOT will be discussed and given direction by the Government.
Since the toll collection resumed on the morning of November 30, Cai Lay BOT has continuously released the station and collected tolls. Drivers continue to protest by paying in small change, demanding that the toll station be moved to its proper location, i.e. on the bypass.
