North Korean leader holds strategy meeting with negotiators
(Baonghean.vn) - North Korean leader Kim Jong-un showed he was very interested in the outcome of his upcoming summit with US President Donald Trump, as he held a strategy meeting with his negotiators today. This was one of the first things he did upon arriving in Hanoi.

On February 27, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) published a photo of Kim Jong-un holding a meeting with negotiators, including North Korea's special representative for US affairs Kim Hyok-chol and Kim Song-hye, head of the secretariat of the Committee for the Reunification of Korea. Also attending the meeting were Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho and Vice Foreign Minister Choe Son-hui.
The meeting took place at the Melia Hotel after Mr. Kim Jong-un arrived in Hanoi yesterday. KCNA said: "At the Melia Hotel, Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un listened to a detailed report on the contact between working delegations sent by the US and North Korea to Hanoi with the aim of making the second US-North Korea summit a success."
Since February 21, for five consecutive days, North Korean special envoy Kim Hyok-chol has conducted last-minute negotiations with his US counterpart Stephen Biegun in Hanoi, aiming to outline an agreement that can be passed at this US-North Korea summit.
Today, the US President is expected to have his first meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on the first evening of the two-day bilateral summit in Vietnam.
Specifically, according to the White House, the two leaders will greet each other at 6:30 p.m. (Hanoi time) at the Sofitel Legend Metropole hotel in Hanoi. After that, the two sides will have a private meeting for about 20 minutes, before having dinner. According to the plan, the dinner will last about 1.5 hours and end at about 8:35 p.m../.
