Chinese President Xi Jinping speaks on the phone with US President-elect
Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President-elect Donald Trump agreed to strengthen cooperation in the coming time.
Reuters quoted a source from the transition team of US President-elect Donald Trump as saying that Mr. Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to establish a “clear view on a relationship of mutual respect” during a phone call on the evening of November 13.

In a statement, Mr Trump's presidential transition office said that Chinese President Xi Jinping sent congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump after his recent election victory.
“During the call, the two leaders made clear their commitment to a relationship of mutual respect, and President-elect Trump said he believes the leaders of the two countries will have one of the strongest relationships moving their countries forward,” the statement said.
According to CNN, Chinese state media confirmed the call took place and said that, since China and the US established diplomatic relations nearly 40 years ago, “bilateral relations have continuously developed, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries; promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the region as well as the world.”
Chinese media reported that during the phone call, Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries in many areas. Meanwhile, Trump said he wanted to work with Xi to develop US-China relations.
“The US and China can benefit from bilateral relations and win together. I am happy to work with you (Mr. Xi Jinping) to strengthen cooperation between the US and China. I am sure that the US-China relationship will have better development,” Chinese media quoted President-elect Donald Trump as saying./.
